The Town of Carlisle, MA

Referred to as “the city of woods” by Henry David Thoreau, Carlisle, MA became incorporated as a town in 1805. For outdoor enjoyment, Carlisle is home to Great Brook Farm State Park and a portion of the Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge neighboring the Concord River.
The public school system in Carlisle is highly regarded. In September 2010, Boston Magazine named Concord Carlisle High School the 5th best public high school in Massachusetts.
News travels via the town newspaper - the “Carlisle Mosquito.” It has been the weekly, non-profit, independent newspaper of the town since 1972. The paper includes local news and community announcements.
