The Town of Burlington, MA
Settled in 1641, Burlington, Massachusetts started as an industrial town due to its location along the Shawsheen River. Today it continues to be a thriving suburban town with a flavor of industry, as it’s the home to many large organizations. In the last 15 years especially Burlington has seen a surge in commercial growth with the development of shopping areas as well as new technology companies.
Burlington is also home to a campus of Northeastern University and one of three campuses of Bay Path College.
The public school system consists of four elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. Burlington also boasts an excellent offering of public parks such as Simonds Park as well as various public basketball and tennis courts, and baseball and soccer fields.
Burlington's public schools have recently graduated many prominent athletes, including several Olympians, and other alumni have gone on to have successful careers the NHL, NFL, and Major League Baseball.
The town has excellent access to several major highways including 95 and Route 3 and offers MBTA bus service, making it a very convenient commuter location.
